Bandish Moments

Bandish Bandits is a web-series on Amazon Prime.

Tamanna (female lead actor) is struggling to produce hit music as per her contract. So, she visits Jodhpur, where her father resides, to get an idea from him. Her father tells her to organize a concert, and there she meets Radhe (male lead actor) and insults his classical music until he proves her otherwise. Radhe’s goal is to become shisha(disciple) of his grandfather(Pandit Ji). Eventually, he becomes shisha of Pandit Ji. And then Tamanna and Radhe collaborate to produce a song that goes viral. Rest you can watch on Prime. Highly recommended web-series.

Here a few things which I liked:

1) Classical music in this show is so compelling that we want to hear more of it. (I listen to a Lab par Aaye, Virah, and Garaj Garaj Jugalbandi on repeat most of the days)

2) Tamanna had the guts to accept that she needs training rather than using autotunes and start anew by joining music school. She is popular on social media and known as a singer, leave behind all that feat, and joining a music school is a courageous action.

3) when we feel low, we go on social media and scroll mindlessly and read comments left on our post(usually)to value our worth. We don’t take into consideration when we comment that when will the person read these comments, and in what state of mind. In web series, Tamanna portrayed it nicely after she canceled the live show and also a few other times.

4) When someone blackmails you, better than dancing to their tune, we should liberate ourselves by opening the secret.

5) Couple Understanding – When Radhe gets a chance to sing with queen Eli but not Tamanna, she cries and doesn’t come face to face with him unless she is heartily able to rejoice in his opportunity. She also doesn’t blame Radhe when everyone is trying to replace Tamanna with Radhe.

6) When we reach a feat, then we can’t accept novice challenging the veteran. The same happened with Pandit Ji, and he got his competitor to get married to his son and took the oath of not singing. At last, he accepts his mistake.

7) Tamanna’s mother hits a point when she says that she was so into her daughter excelling that she didn’t notice her drifting away from herself and becoming her antagonist. She wanted to prove to her mother that she is a good singer by signing with queen Eli. She got the truth that until now, her success was because of her mother’s connection. Tamanna also hits the point when she says to her dad that stop praising at every defeat that created an illusion till now that she was the best.

8) Radhe’s mother fulfilled her oath and duties so nicely, still being in love with her ex-bf.

9) Radhe’s dedication when he says that I would be so grateful even if I become 10 percent of as best as his Pandit Ji is. And his character when he manages Tamanna, Pandit Ji, and his family(not to forget his Chacha’s effort in saving the family house from loan sharks). An honest moment when we overlook others in our dhun like Radhe did when they were on Instagram live. Last, when he sings at a high note and later Malhar Raag, and everybody is dumbstruck, that is when you realize he reached more than his aim.
